ECM
ECM Records is a German record label based in Munich. Founded in 1969 by Manfred Eicher, the label initially released mostly jazz albums. Notable artists include Keith Jarrett, Pat Metheny, Chick Corea, Gary Burton, Jan Garbarek, Charlie Haden, John Abercrombie, Dave Liebman, Eberhard Weber, Egberto Gismonti, Dave Holland, Terje Rypdal, Ralph Towner and many more. In the mid-1980s, ECM also began to release classical music featuring composers such as Bach, Beethoven, Schubert and Schumann, as well as contemporary music by Arvo Pärt, Gia Kancheli, Valentin Silverstrov, John Cage, Elliott Carter, Steve Reich and John Adams, among others.
